It is imperative for someone whoâs interested in knowing the Texas holdem rules to check out the terms that are constantly used in the game. Blind is one term that you need to know since it will be frequently used during the game. Blinds are mandatory or forced bets that are given by two players who are on the immediate left of the dealer.
After the blinds are posted by these two players, all players will then be dealt with their two hole cards and the first round of betting will take place. This process will be repeated until the fifth and last community card which is also known as the river is already dealt at the table.
The player on the left of the big blind will be the one to make the first move, he can either fold, call or even raise. If he calls, then he needs to place an equal amount to the big blind. Raise is to simply double the amount of money.
Another term that should be fully understood is the flop. This is the first three community cards that are dealt on the table, after which a round of betting will again take place. In this round the player has another option in addition to the mentioned previously, he can now check. Checking means a player decides to stay on the hand but will not place any wager and will wait until the next turn. All in all there will be four rounds of betting in every game until the fourth card which is called the turn card and the river is revealed. The player who has the best hand value at the showdown will win, in cases of ties, the pot will be split.
